During a stroll through historic Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, we wandered into a quaint gift shop and found ourselves drawn to a delicate illuminated wine bottle, its outside adorned with dried flowers.

The shop owner told us it was handmade by a local artist—Lynn. The piece seemed to capture a quiet glow—like a tiny lantern from the town’s own craft scene—making our visit feel more personal. We left with a sense of having discovered a small, bright secret tucked away in a storefront, something that would remind us of Harpers Ferry long after we were gone.
Lynn—the artist behind this luminous treasure and proprietor of Rockhaven B&B—these pieces are as exotic as they are one-of-a-kind. Lynn and her husband Christian run Rockhaven B&B, a charming 1920s stone foursquare just a block from the old Storer College campus. Their house (now a charming B&B) carries a rich history, once owned by William Saunders, a Storer College graduate who returned to teach there as its longest-serving Black teacher.
Lynn grows the flowers in the Rockhaven garden and handcrafts each bottle from those blooms, ensuring every handmade artisan treasure is unique and limited in quantity. We’re thrilled to feature Lynn’s botanical bottle art at Fizzesse—a beautiful fusion of nature, craft, and light.
